About Our Team
Counseling was my dream career since the 10th grade, but because of ‘life’ this dream was not fulfilled until some 20 years later. After years of dedication and hard work, that dream became a reality. In 2010 I earned my Bachelor of Science degree at Liberty University and in 2012 I earned my Master of Professional Counseling. Both were earned at Liberty University In Lynchburg, VA.
I have worked with children and families all of my adult life, but I’ve been a licensed counselor since 2016. I’ve provided services such as individual, family, and marriage counseling, for ages 5 to 70. I’ve provided workshops on “Marriage Empowerment”, “Marriage & Family: Chronic Stress”, “Communication: Building better relationships”. I have hosted International Marriage Retreats to places like Paris and Dubai, as well as state side retreats in Hawaii.
Tony Howerton is the Mentor and Life Coach Program Director at Howerton Counseling, LLC. Tony earned his Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Danville Community College in 1992. Tony has worked diligently in the Danville community with several organizations. At the Ministerial Alliance he served as the Education Coordinator. In this position, he collaborated with Danville Public School to develop and facilitate workshops to promote leadership, good decision making skills, build self-esteem, improve academic and social skills, raise competency and empowerment, values, and self-awareness for the youth.
